You're the Only One I Like

You're the Only One I Like — Chapter 3

Edward Quan ·

“Did you cheat on me?”

“No.”

“Is there any woman in your heart besides me?”

“No.”

Knowing she’d been in the wrong, I sincerely apologized.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t get the facts straight.”

His eyes were red with hurt.

I thought the whole thing was absurd.

The thing he’d been secretly hiding from me was that he was… unusually endowed.

Other men would be dying to show that off.

Why was he so insecure?

Was it all show and no performance?

I was dying of curiosity.

I couldn’t help asking, “Are you really eighteen centimeters?”

He hesitated. “It’s actually closer to nineteen.”

Holy crap.

“I don’t believe you.”

He panicked.

“Measure it and you’ll see I’m not lying!”

…

This wasn’t a good idea, was it?

I took out a tape measure…

10

In the end, I never measured.

Not because I didn’t want to.

The process got a little out of hand.

The next day, my whole body ached, as if I’d been pulled apart.

He carefully massaged me.

“Last night… were you satisfied?”

I blushed a little. “It was… still new to me.”

He’d been careful and gentle.

But it still hurt quite a bit.

After all, he was unusually well-endowed.

He immediately tensed up.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t have any experience. I’ll be more careful next time.”

Then he suddenly stopped.

He asked in alarm, “Does that mean there won’t be a next time?”

What kind of question was that!

I hadn’t had my fill yet.

I hurried to reassure him.

“There will be. Of course there will.”

He let out a breath of relief.

“So… should we measure it? I can get ready, or you can do it yourself.”

I immediately covered his mouth.

My face burned.

“Stop talking!”

The misunderstanding was cleared up.

We made up.

And we’d finally slept together.

I was in an excellent mood.

Only Xu Yanqing had become a little different.

Before, he’d been strongly against living together before marriage.

Now he wanted to stay at my place every day.

He’d become very possessive, too.

He was unhappy whenever he saw me talking to a man.

I only said one extra sentence to the delivery guy, and he questioned me for ages.

But if I showed even the slightest impatience, he immediately fell silent.

He watched my expression every day.

He seemed terribly insecure.

I could understand.

After all, we’d only just given ourselves to each other.

A little possessiveness was normal.

A few days after our first time, my body had nearly recovered.

I started feeling restless again.

Before work was even over, I couldn’t wait any longer and called him over.

The second time was much better than the first.

He’d picked up a few new techniques.

He made me feel so good I didn’t want it to stop.

After I gave him a positive review, he became even more proactive.

It was as if he’d discovered some secret technique.

In just one month, he’d gone from having no experience at all to being incredibly skilled.

Every day, he kept going until I was completely worn out.

I was so tired I could barely move, lying limp on the bed while he cleaned me up.

As he wiped me down, he whispered in my ear:

“I know I’m not the size you’d like best. Thank you for being willing to put up with me.”

I was so sleepy I could barely make out what he was saying.

I murmured a vague reply.

“Mm…”

“Do you still mean what you promised me?”

“…Mm.”

“Even if you find the size you like out there, you still won’t leave me?”

“…Mm.”

He smiled happily when he heard my answer.

He kissed my ear gently.

“Du Xiaoqiao, let’s move in together.”

11

The next day, Xu Yanqing brought his luggage and moved in with me.

I was surprised.

He hadn’t even told me he wanted to live together.

I’d been about to move into his place instead.

But he was already staying at my apartment most nights.

I was used to it.

As it happened, someone moved into the vacant apartment next door that day.

It was Qin Song, the person in charge on the partner company’s side of our project.

Xu Yanqing happily carried up the rest of his luggage.

Then he saw me chatting cheerfully with Qin Song, and his expression changed at once.

He hurried over and wrapped me in his arms, clearly on guard.

“Wife, who’s this?”

How unusual.

In three years together, this was the first time he’d called me “wife.”

You could smell the jealousy from the security desk downstairs.

“This is Qin Song, my coworker.”

“And this is my boyfriend, Xu Yanqing.”

Xu Yanqing immediately added, “Her fiancé.”

So childish.

I suppressed a smile and nodded. “That’s right. My fiancé.”

The corners of Xu Yanqing’s mouth lifted; he couldn’t force them down.

He looked smugly at Qin Song.

“When are we getting married? Probably in the next few months. You’re welcome to come celebrate with us.”

Who asked you?

Qin Song looked at Xu Yanqing with interest.

“So Sister Xiaoyu wasn’t lying. You really do have a boyfriend.”

…

I closed the door.

Xu Yanqing didn’t look happy at all.

He pulled me close and asked, “What did he mean by that?”

“Nothing. Don’t overthink it.”

“Did he used to pursue you?”

“…Yes.”

“Why didn’t you ever tell me?”

Before I could answer, he said to himself, “I guess after all the people you’ve tried, you wouldn’t tell me about this little thing.”

Seriously?

Was he still hung up on the heels?

He kept bringing it up.

Those were two different things!

I was starting to lose patience.

“It wasn’t anything worth mentioning. Lots of people have pursued me. Do I have to report every one of them to you?”

“Can’t you see how I feel about you now?”

“Could you stop acting like a betrayed wife, watching which men I talk to every day?”

“It’s annoying.”

He pulled his mouth into a bitter smile.

“?”

“Sorry. It’s my problem.”

“If I’m going to stand in this position, I should have the proper bearing.”

“I won’t ask again.”

Why did that sound so passive-aggressive?

12

Ever since Qin Song moved into the apartment next door, it was much more convenient to work with him.

We didn’t have to stay late at the office every day.

We could drop by each other’s apartments whenever we needed to discuss work.

At first, I was a little worried Xu Yanqing would be upset.

But after we argued a few times, his habit of getting jealous over everything improved a lot.

One evening, I had the phone on speaker while discussing a proposal with Qin Song.

His voice sounded a little strange. He was breathing hard.

I paused.

“Are you busy? Am I interrupting you?”

“I’m running in the gym. It’s fine. Go ahead, I’m still listening.”

I teased him. “You’re so dedicated. You already have a great figure. What are other men supposed to do?”

He laughed. “What, do you like my figure? Is your man’s body not good enough for you?”

Oh my god. So cheesy.

“Honestly, I was just being polite, and you took it seriously.”

We talked a little more about work, then ended the call.

The moment I hung up, I saw Xu Yanqing come out of the room in workout clothes.

I blinked.

“What are you doing?”

He puffed out his chest, showing off his pecs.

“Going to the gym. I haven’t worked out in a while.”

…

For the next few days, Xu Yanqing went to the gym to work on his muscles every day.

His stamina kept improving.

He poured all that energy into me.

It felt good, sure.

But every day was too much for me.

I started avoiding him.

He panicked.

“Am I not doing a good enough job?”

I hurriedly waved my hands. “No, no. You’re great.”

“You don’t have to comfort me. I know I’m too big for you. I’m sorry. It’s my fault.”

…

Was he bragging about himself?

But he looked so insecure while saying it.

I couldn’t understand him.

At least he listened when I asked and gave me a few days off.

I had time to rest and recover.

He started going to the gym even more diligently.

One night, he came home from the gym with a terrible expression.

I asked what was wrong, but he wouldn’t tell me.

At midnight, I woke up thirsty and went to get a drink.

I heard him hiding in the bathroom, crying and hitting himself down there.

“It’s all your fault for being so big and ugly!”

“You’re nothing compared to his!”

“She can put up with you for a while, but how can she put up with you forever?”

“I wish I could cut you off!”

I’d only turned him down for a few days.

Did it really have to be this bad?

I rushed in, frightened, and hugged him.

“All right, all right. Stop crying. I don’t like anyone else.”

“I’m just tired.”

“If you don’t believe me, should we do it tonight?”

He looked at me, eyes red at the corners.

“Really?”

“Yeah! Come here!”

After that, he never initiated anything again.

If I didn’t say I wanted it, he wouldn’t even dare touch me.

As if he were afraid I’d hate him.

I didn’t understand.

Hadn’t I made myself clear enough?

13

The company project was nearing its final stage.

Lately, Qin Song and I had been busy preparing the project summary report.

Whenever something needed revising, I asked him to come over and discuss it.

It was better than going to his apartment.

A man and a woman alone together—better not to give Xu Yanqing the wrong idea.

He was too fragile now. I had to be careful with him.

When Xu Yanqing came home, Qin Song and I were discussing the 3D model for the next project.

“Yours looks pretty good. The dimensions are just right.”

“Sister Xiaoyu, you’ve got a good eye. Everyone else says it’s a little small.”

“They don’t know what they’re talking about. I know better. Don’t listen to them.”

Xu Yanqing didn’t say a word. He stood blankly by the dining table pouring water.

He filled the glass and spilled water all over the table without noticing.

I got it.

He was being oversensitive again.

I hurriedly sent Qin Song home.

Qin Song was reluctant. “We haven’t finished revising the report…”

“Go home and work on it first. I’ll message you later.”

“All right.”

After Qin Song left, Xu Yanqing asked calmly:

“He showed you?”

Showed me what?

The 3D model Qin Song and I were talking about?

“Yeah.”

He was silent for a moment, eyes lowered.

“What did you think?”

“It’s pretty good. It meets my requirements.”

“You like it a lot?”

“It’s all right. Compared with the others, his is pretty good.”

“So you’re planning to accept it?”

“I am.”
