After dinner, we curled up on the sofa to watch TV.

I leaned against him.

All I had to do was turn my face to see his sharp jawline and tempting Adam’s apple.

He was so handsome.

My heart itched.

Unable to resist, I pulled his neck down and kissed him.

His lashes trembled.

He slowly closed his eyes.

I’d started the kiss, but little by little he took control.

My body grew softer and softer.

His breathing grew more and more uneven.

I suddenly remembered what we’d planned to do last night, but never did.

I was a little distracted.

My fingers sneakily slipped under his shirt.

I felt his hard abs.

“Babe, should we try it now?”

But his whole body stiffened.

He immediately pushed me away.

“I… I just remembered I still have a work report to finish. I’ll head out first.”

The door slammed shut.

Only then did it hit me.

Damn it, had I just been rejected???

What was going on?

He’d clearly reacted.

He’d been into it, too.

This shouldn’t be happening…

Maybe he’d been up all night worrying and wasn’t feeling well?

All right, all right.

I could understand.

A man’s pride and all that.

I’d rushed things.

Next time, then.

After that, we were both busy.

Neither of us brought up that “premarital quality check” again.

Before long, Lunar New Year arrived.

We’d already agreed that this year we’d spend the holiday in my hometown.

We planned to talk to my parents about getting married.

My parents liked him a lot.

They thought his character, temperament, and abilities were all excellent.

They trusted him completely.

So on the third day of the New Year, my parents left to visit relatives back home.

They were gone for three whole days.

Leaving just the two of us in the house.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

While nobody else was home, I crawled into his blankets every night. We watched movies and played games together.

I rubbed up against him in his arms.

I deliberately tried to make him lose control.

But even with sweat on his brow, he refused to cross the line.

I couldn’t understand what he was so stubborn about!

By the last night, I couldn’t sit still anymore.

I opened a bottle of my father’s liquor.

I told Xu Yanqing I wanted to practice drinking.

Really, I wanted to get him drunk.

But after just two glasses, I couldn’t handle it.

I was so dizzy I started babbling.

In the end, he carried me to bed, and I drifted off.

I was so annoyed I even slapped myself twice in my dream.

In the middle of the night, my neck felt itchy.

I sleepily opened my eyes—and woke right up!

Xu Yanqing was secretly kissing me!

His whole body was burning hot.

His damp, hot breath brushed my neck.

His trembling hand gently stroked the skin at my waist.

He was holding back. He was trying to restrain himself.

Then I realized.

We’d drunk my father’s medicinal liquor tonight!

Maybe it had some kind of… stimulating effect?

This was the first time he’d ever lost control like this!

My heart raced.

I stopped pretending.

Desirefully, I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.

He paused and lifted his head.

His dark eyes stared at me.

Powerful desire surged in them.

I gently kissed his brows and eyes.

“Yanqing…”

He couldn’t hold back any longer.

He held my head in place and bent down to kiss me passionately.

Our breaths mingled.

Our bodies burned.

We tangled together in a daze.

As we kissed, my hand began to slide lower.

Suddenly, a loud crash interrupted us.

The glass on the bedside table had been knocked over by our clothes. It shattered on the floor.

His eyes instantly cleared.

He let go of me in a panic.

“Lie still. Don’t move. I’ll clean this up.”

I pulled him back. “We can clean up after.”

He lowered his eyes and gently removed my hand.

“I’ll clean it up, then take care of some work. You should go to sleep.”

…

What did that mean??

He’d rejected me again!!!

We’d already gotten that far!

And he was still turning me down?

Could he be impotent?

No way!

I’d just felt it!

I was sure!

He had one!

And a pretty impressive one, too!

But he still refused to take things any further with me.

Why?

Could he have someone else in his heart?

Was he saving himself for her?

I refused to believe he was that kind of man!

So that very night, I ordered some mood-setting fragrance, sexy lingerie, and a few adult toys online.

I decided to test him one more time!

6

But the moment our holiday ended, he told me he’d suddenly been sent on a business trip.

Overseas!

Seriously?

Did I look that gullible?

What kind of nonsense was that?

He was obviously avoiding me!

So I staked out his apartment for three nights in a row.

Sure enough, he never came home.

Had he really gone on a business trip?

Or had he found somewhere else to stay?

Was he avoiding me this badly?

Could he really have a problem?

My anxiety grew.

I waited uneasily for half a month.

I still hadn’t heard a word from him.

If one of his friends hadn’t organized a get-together and invited me along, I wouldn’t even have known he’d come back!

I was so mad I didn’t want to speak to him all day.

After dinner, everyone went to a bar to dance.

I wasn’t in the mood to have fun.

I made an excuse and went outside for some air.

I hadn’t been standing there long when Xu Yanqing and his friend Chen Xi came out too.

They didn’t see me.

They leaned against the railing, drinking away their sorrows.

Chen Xi kept complaining that he liked a girl who was hard to win over.

Xu Yanqing wasn’t listening at all.

He took several swigs of liquor.

Then he turned to Chen Xi.

“I’m done for, Chen Xi.”

“I think she found out.”

7

Found out what?

My heart tightened.

Chen Xi was stunned, too.

“Are you sure?”

Xu Yanqing shook his head helplessly.

“No.”

“That day we almost… Luckily, I managed to push her away in time.”

“After that, something about the way she looked at me felt off.”

“Tell me, do you think she found something out?”

Chen Xi said, “There’s no point overthinking it. Why not just come clean?”

“No. She absolutely can’t find out.”

Chen Xi sighed. “Honestly, what am I supposed to say to you?”

Xu Yanqing gave a bitter laugh.

“Tell me what I should do.”

“How do I keep it hidden so she won’t find out?”

“Do you have any ideas?”

Chen Xi said a lot, but I didn’t hear a word.

There was only one thought in my head.

Xu Yanqing was cheating on me!!!

No wonder he’d been avoiding me and wouldn’t let me touch him!

He was staying faithful for another woman!

I was furious!

I couldn’t take another second of it!

I pulled out my phone.

Furiously, I typed two words.

【We’re breaking up!】

I got home in a daze.

A few minutes later, someone pounded on the front door.

I didn’t need to guess who it was.

Xu Yanqing.

It was better to clear everything up face-to-face.

I let him in.

His expression was grim. He demanded, “Why did you suddenly break up with me?”

I gave a cold laugh.

“You really don’t know?”

He paused and turned his face away.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

I found it funny.

“Xu Yanqing, do you think I’m stupid?”

“You’ve been avoiding me and won’t let me touch you. You should’ve known this day would come.”

“If you’d told me earlier, we could’ve broken up peacefully.”

“But you chose to deceive me!”

His eyes trembled. His fingers clenched.

“You… you know?”

“I wasn’t trying to lie to you.”

“I just…”

He wanted to explain.

Then he realized it was pointless.

He couldn’t find any excuse.

He lowered his eyes helplessly.

His voice was dry. “I’m sorry.”

What good was an apology?

“Forget it. Leave. Don’t contact me again.”

He gritted his teeth. His eyes were red, full of hurt and resentment.

His feet seemed rooted to the floor. He stood there, refusing to go.

I was completely out of patience.

“If you don’t leave, I’ll call the police!”

He broke down.

His voice was hoarse as he accused me.

“You think I wanted to keep it from you?”

“I knew you couldn’t handle eighteen centimeters!”

“But being that big isn’t my fault!”

“How could you break up with me over this?”

“Three years together, and you can just throw it away?”

“Du Xiaoqiao, you’re heartless!”

What was he talking about?

Who would complain that it was too big…

Wait.

Was he eighteen???

9

No, no, no!!

What was I focusing on?

That wasn’t the point!

He’d almost distracted me.

I snapped angrily, “You were the one cheating! How dare you blame me?”

He froze.

He was silent for two seconds.

Then he exploded.

“When did I ever cheat?”

“You’re accusing me!”

“How could I do something that would hurt you?”

I fell silent.

He was so worked up.

And so angry.

He didn’t look like he was pretending.

When I didn’t say anything, he laughed in disbelief.

“You don’t believe me?”

He tossed me his phone.

He gave me the passwords to all his apps, even his bank account.

“Check it.”

“Don’t know how?”

“Look it up on Xiaohongshu. There are tons of ways to catch a cheater!”

One hour later, I handed his phone back.

He gave a cold snort.
