Synopsis
Yang Chenxi wants an ordinary life: school, a steady job, and a home where she does not have to be afraid. Her mother, a singer still chasing the success that slipped away from her, has other plans. To stay in school, Chenxi must first win a place in a new girl group. Behind the bright lights, applause, and carefully rehearsed smiles, growing up is anything but simple. Friendship offers comfort; ambition exacts a price. A young musician's dream of freedom and an old school friend's quiet kindness draw Chenxi toward very different kinds of love, while the family she barely knows forces her to confront what it means to care for another person.
