Chapter 6
Edward Quan ·
“Refund us now! Cancel every contract!”
“Anyone in the industry who works with Shenghao again is opposing me!”
**Part 9**
The chairman was utterly panicked.
This conference would decide Shenghao’s survival. If every client left, the company would be bankrupt tomorrow.
He drew a deep breath and forced down his anger.
“Please, everyone, calm down!”
“I will give you a satisfactory explanation!”
Turning, he roared at the security captain:
“Get these two scumbags out!”
Guards rushed forward and pinned them to the floor.
He pointed at Zhao Gang, his voice cold.
“You’re fired, effective immediately.”
“Our legal department will recover every yuan of those kickbacks.”
“Your properties and vehicles will be frozen.”
“My sister will divorce you tomorrow. You’ll leave with nothing!”
Zhao Gang wailed.
“Brother-in-law, don’t!”
“I’ll do anything for you. Spare me once!”
Ignoring him, the chairman pointed at Lin Tingting.
“And you.”
“Falsifying water-quality reports constitutes suspected commercial fraud.”
“You nearly destroyed our conference and caused appalling damage.”
“Every financial loss—tens of millions—will fall on the two of you!”
“Legal, prepare the lawsuit. I’ll make them pay until they’re ruined!”
Her eyes rolled back. She fainted in terror.
He kept struggling, but security gave him no chance.
“Take them out. Straight to Legal to check the accounts!”
They were dragged from the lobby like dead dogs.
Then the chairman turned and bowed deeply to the clients.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for this disgrace.”
“To show our sincerity, we’ll concede ten percent of our profit on every project signed today.”
“And I guarantee Shenghao will serve only premium mineral water from now on.”
At the profit concession, the executives’ expressions finally eased.
In business, interests always came first.
“Since you’re so sincere, Chairman, we’ll give Shenghao one more chance.”
“We hope nothing this absurd happens again.”
The hall returned to normal.
The conference resumed.
Wiping his forehead, the chairman hurried to me and clasped my hand in both of his.
“Thank you, Mr. Chen. Truly.”
“Without your timely delivery, Shenghao would have been finished.”
I withdrew my hand and smiled faintly.
“I take payment and do the job. Nothing more natural.”
“But your company is too grand for lowly delivery workers like us.”
He waved repeatedly.
“You’re joking!”
“From today, your station will exclusively supply this whole building.”
“Five hundred per jug. We’ll sign three years now.”
“The advance will reach your account this afternoon!”
I raised an eyebrow.
At Shenghao’s daily consumption, five hundred a jug was an enormous sum.
But I didn’t let money blind me.
“That was an emergency price.”
“I want a lasting business. Market price is fine.”
“But I have one condition.”
He nodded quickly.
“Anything. Tell me.”
I pointed outside.
“When my crew comes here, they use the passenger lifts.”
“If anyone forces them up the stairs again, our business ends.”
He patted his chest.
“No problem!”
“Your delivery workers will be Shenghao’s honored guests.”
“Anyone disrespecting them is fired!”
Satisfied, I nodded, took the settlement invoice, and left.
My phone vibrated.
A WeChat message from the station crew.
“How did it go, boss? We’ve finished next door.”
I smiled and sent a generous cash gift to the group.
“Bill settled. Score settled too.”
“Those two aren’t just fired. They’re facing huge compensation claims. They’ll spend the rest of their lives at prison sewing machines.”
“Quanjude tonight. My treat. Eat all you want!”
The group erupted.
“Boss Chen, you legend!”
“Serves them right!”
“Good riddance! Send those bloodsuckers to hell!”
