Synopsis
I’d barely told him we had a client dinner that evening when his assistant snatched the phone and pleaded with me through tears. “I made Mr. Fu some porridge to soothe his stomach. Please, I’m begging you, let him have one night off!” “He’s almost drinking himself into a stomach hemorrhage. You’re his girlfriend. Can’t you stop pushing him?” “Men are human, too. If you won’t care about him, I will!” Then she blocked me. But that evening’s meeting was with the client responsible for forty percent of our annual revenue. I hurriedly called Fu Huaichuan from another number. He answered coolly. “The dinner’s canceled. In all these years, she’s the first person to make porridge for my stomach.” I gave a cold laugh and called an emergency board meeting that very night. The next morning, Fu Huaichuan and his assistant were both fired. Their offense? Walking through the door left foot first.
