Synopsis

My mother had only ever called me three times. The first time, she demanded my salary card to pay my younger brother’s tuition. The second, she ordered me to give him the home I had saved three years to buy. He needed it to get married. On the third call, she wanted my entire life in exchange for his future. “Your brother hit someone while driving drunk. They might not survive. Get down to the police station and take the blame for him!” She sobbed until her voice gave out, as though no one in the world had suffered more than she had.
